Number being 983.The Cape Corps is the Oldest Regiment in South Africa and gained immortal fame in Palestine 1918/19 .The Cape Corps fist made its appearance in South African History in 1793 since then the Corps has created for itself an enviable record of service in the best tradition of loyalty to duty all over the Wold.
We all have dedicated ourselves to serve this Legion to the best of our ability,and in addition,are very proud to be members of it.In other words our war memorial is the Legion,By virtue of the work we do for it. Our work lies among the the underprivileged. The members of the Legion are Available to assist in the conquest of ignorance and poverty under our veterans and there families.
OUR WORK ENTAILS A VARIED PROGRAMME SUCH AS
- Procuring and seeing that ex servicemen are in receipt of pension.
- Where deterioration of a War Disability set in that the applicant go for a reboard so as to receive a pension at a higher percentage
- Where an Ex- Servicemen is awaiting a War Veterans Pension that his family is look after.
- To give Christmas cheer to old age Veterans at Christmas time,if funds are available.
- To pay rent, Provide food parcels, issue blankets during winter whenever a case warrant assistance.
- To visit Hospitals during the year and an annual visit by the Legion at Christmas times.
